3-DAY CRUISE FROM CYPRUS TO SYRIA

This experience starts from Limassol port. After passport formalities you may relax in your comfort cabin or at the ship's bar. The night starts with a spectacular buffet dinner. Enjoy a rich palette of international cuisine in the luxurious dining rooms, relax with cocktail and music throughout the evening in one of the vessel’s bar, or if live shows and cabaret are more your scene, visit the lounges where you will be entertained all night. Next day, early in the morning, we dock at "Lattakia"

Homs

(Optional shore excursion. First day) Our shore excursion in Syria begins from Latakia port and the first visit is the Castle of the Knights.  A supreme example of crusaders war architecture, built in the 12th century and consisted of two circular fortresses one inside the other. Situated on the top of a rocky hill with incredible view of the land and bay, the castle’s design is both Frankish and Arabic, built with large limestone blocks that have weathered to golden yellow over the years. A visit to the Monastery of St George will follow and shortly after that we will continue to the city of Homs. The city of Homs provides an excellent opportunity for walking around the traditional souks (markets) and shopping in the modern shops.

Back to the ship. Overnight on board.

Damascus (Optional shore excursion. 2nd Day)

Our tour to Damascus, the bustling capital of Syria, begins with a visit at St George Monastery on the way. Before entering Damascus we will visit the beautiful villages of Seydnaya and Maaloula, two of the most important religious sites in Christendom. Seydnaya is built on a hilltop, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, and we will visit the church of the Virgin Mary with the beautiful icons, one of which was painted by St Luke. Maaloula, is built on the mountainside with houses piling on each other and the inhabitants still speak in Aramaic, the language of Jesus Christ. We will visit the renowned chapels of St Sergius and St Thecla.

Our tour continues to Damascus where a few hours will be allocated for shopping in the famous and fascinating bazaars. Visit the Christian bazaar, the European bazaar and the traditional and exciting souk (bazaar) Al-Hamidiyeh. The souk is built against the walls of the city’s citadel and there are hundreds of shops offering a unique chance for shopping.

Back to the ship
