3-DAY CRUISE TO RHODES & SYMI ISLAND


Departure from Limassol port. After passport formalities you may relax in your comfort
cabin or at the ship's swimming pool area. The night starts with
a spectacular buffet dinner. Enjoy a rich palette of
international cuisine in the luxurious dining rooms, relax with
cocktail and music throughout the evening in one of the
vessel’s bar, or if live shows and cabaret are more your
scene, visit the lounges where you will be entertained all
night. Next day, we dock at Rhodes Island.
Rhodes, a jewel of an Island, has something to offer everyone. According to Greek
Mythology, Rhodes was blessed by the God of Sun "Helios" with 300 days of glorious sunshine
each year. the golden sandy beaches, the crystal clear waters, the variety
of ancient Greek monuments (Acropolis, Temple of Apollo, Theatre
and stadium) as well as the cosmopolitan town with its Venetian
Castle and inexpensive bazaars give the visitor the opportunity
to have an exotic adventure.
Rhodes Island. Tsabika valley of the 7 springs - optional excursion: This excursion
is a combination of pilgrimage plus a drive to one of the
loveliest areas of Rhodes and is operated without a professional
guide. After arriving in Rhodes on Saturday afternoon, you board
the coaches and proceed south to the monastery of the Virgin
Mary, called "Tsabika" and who is the patron
saint of Rhodes. Ample time will be given to visit the rich
treasures of the monastery and especially the church, which
houses the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary. we then proceed
to the "Valley of the seven springs", one of the most
beautiful areas of the island. The area is covered with plane
trees and the water flowing out of the 7 springs creates
beautiful little streams running down the valley. We return to
the old city of Rhodes where time will be given for shopping
before walking back to the ship, which is always docked a short
distance to the old city. After dinner on board, the night is
free for entertainment.
Next day, early in the morning, we sail to Symi Island, expected to arrive at around 06.30
hours.
SYMI ISLAND. The very first thing about the island of Symi that impresses the
visitor is its architecture. Ghialos is the main port of the island and is one o the most
picturesque, attractive and unforgettable harbors in Greece. Hundreds of churches are scattered around
the island offering visitors the opportunity to visit them and learn their
history. During the 1900s, Symi was the world’s most renowned sponge diving
centre.
The islanders have a reputation for being fearless
seamen, expert sponge divers, and skilful shipbuilders.
Monastery of St. Michael Panormitis - optional excursion: After
docking at the picturesque harbor of Symi, passengers will board
one of the local boats and follow the western coast of the
island to the harbour of "Panormitis", where the
Monastery of St. Michael Panormitis is situated. Visit the
church of the Monastery, which houses the miraculous icon of St.
Michael The Archangel, renowned for answering prayers and
performing many miracles. Visit the Museum that houses some of
the relics of the Monastery. Return to Symi harbour, following the same route.
Note: As this excursion is a pilgrimage there will be no guide accompanying
participants. In the event that the number of participants is
limited, mini buses will be used instead.
